Kwoon - I lived on the Moon (via poulpemou)

This is the most beautiful animation I’ve seen in a while.  Every scene by Yannick Puig matches ever sound by Kwoon.

And indeed there will be time
For the yellow smoke that slides along the street,
Rubbing its back upon the window-panes;
There will be time, there will be time
To prepare a face to meet the faces that you meet;
There will be time to murder and create,
And time for all the works and days of hands
That lift and drop a question on your plate;
Time for you and time for me,
And time yet for a hundred indecisions,
And for a hundred visions and revisions,
Before the taking of a toast and tea.

T.S. Eliot, The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock, to the tune of Portishead

The Modern Leper, by Frightened Rabbit.

Almost 4 in the morning.  I’m not going to sleep.

Eva, I’m sorry, but you will never have me

I’ve listened to plenty of songs in the past twenty four hours while decorating the house with my dear O-aides.  This has got to be one of my favorites.  The refrain is just the best.

Grizzly Bear’s song Knife has been stuck in my head as my eyelids droop at 4:11 in the morning.

Zach of Beirut did a drunken cover on Parisian streets one night.

And now the wind, it hits our sleeves.
It’s freezing, we got colder
(Older, we got Older).

The Deadly Syndrome, Eucalyptus

Love is like a river, it always bends.
Love’s like a river, it drowned you in the end.
So just lie down on the river bend…
breathe in.

Chris Appelhans, Breathe In

Once upon a time, I watched a film called Family Business.  A cinematic gem and a visual masterpiece, this absurdist musical was muchly the work of a kid named Mike Swanberg, whom I’ve never met and whose name I usually don’t recall (both in conversation and in my mind, I call him by his character’s name: Father).

Anyway, The New Suffer Jets is Father’s band.  While listening to them on their myspace, I entirely forgot that I was listening to them on their myspace.

Yes.  They’re that good.

Bon Iver, how beautiful.

M. Ward, Poor Boy, Minor Key.

M. Ward has been my earworm the last few days.

DeVotchka.  How it ends.

…forever’s not so long.

Bon Iver - Blood Bank

Incase you didn’t know Bon Iver has an EP coming out late Jan. Titled Blood Bank EP.

I’m excited and nervous at the same time, because I want it to be really good.

Ghost, Neutral Milk Hotel.

If I could, I’d post the entire album In the Aeroplane Over the Sea.

Sunset Rubdown, “Us Ones in Between.”

I’ve heard of creatures who eat their babies;
I wonder if they stop to think about the taste.
